Thumbs up for Adelaide Insurance

NB: Price is for a 50 y.o. with 8 years NCB; 09 GSA & 07 XChallenge, comprehensive, both garaged at home in Kildare.
And I know it's much cheaper 'over the border' :P

....but you're over that border now :hpbirthda:comfort

Got renewal in from Motorrad now the GSA is one year old. Different company as NIG aren't doing bike insurance apparently. So it went up by about £30 to £271. The excess also went up from £250 to £300.
We've recently moved from a small town to a rural village and the bike is in a garage rather than locked up in a lean-to. Thought that should reduce things a bit but after applying a change of address they wanted over £300.
Moving on to Adelaide, they started at £260 odd. I said that was just £10 less...and he came back with £237 and an excess of £250.
He got paid, plus I had no problems understanding his Norn Irn voice...:D

i keep hearing daft stories about Carole Nash.
they've gone from 'market leaders' to a joke for most people and are losing business to such an extent you'd think they were deliberately trying to leave the Irish market :nenau

Them daft stories are true Marc.......been with CN from the very beginning and never a claim (ever) and I pulled from them this year after I gave them every chance to re-insure me.

They must have a new boss in there eager to leave the Irish market "as you say" :P

P.S...Marc, could you pm your tel no to me.

I did call them last year but they won't insure multiple bikes on the one policy, same as Quinn. Stuck with Aon at the moment who incidentally charge a fee if I change bikes on the policy, whereas Quinn don't (son insured with them...) Bring back the old Norwich Union Rider policy is what I say :rob

I have 4 bikes on one policy £200 fully comp !!!!! :beerjug: with adelaide

god help you if you have a claim with cn, you pay your money to dublin, your claim is handled in the uk, you then deal with m i s claims in belfast, and from there to a solicitor in the uk, i am speaking from experience because my bike along with 3 other bikes were driven over by a drunk jeep driver in luxembourg, had i been with a o n as my bike was 6 months old i would have got it replaced by a new bike, with c n i lost 4k in depreciation, it happened june 08 and only finalised march 2011, hows that for service. i also lost my no claims and 650 policy excess, i got the no claims back with a big fuss, the other 3 were with a o n and no problems to report. by the way the bikes were parked in a parking area, covered and locked, but they might as well have been in the middle of the road as far as cn was concerned. By the way anyone with quinn if you are travelling to europe check your policy as they only covered ireland and uk, maybe its changed now?

Adelaide are the IAM broker. Have car and bike with them. £230 in North London for a 2010 GS not bad. Only stipulation is that is the bike is within 500m of my home and not in the garage it is not insured for theft. Very good service but when the policy is near expiry they are very hungry and are after you.

This year Adelaide came back with a renewal of £367 for the two bikes. After reading about hassles with e-bike, I tried Carole Nash. They don't quote online because the two bikes had - eek - exhaust modifications. WTF - It's a selectable item in their website???
Anyway. Called them and got a none-too-clued-up guy. Eventuall got there but the price was £452. Coudn't seem to understand why I wasnt jumping at the chance to pay him. Plus, apart from the extra premium, they wanted a £250 excess on both bikes. With Adelaide only the GSA has a £250 excess. The R has no excess.
Carole Nash have phoned 5 times yesterday and today, the two times I answered I got someone wanting to give me a quote. When they were told that they were about £100 too expensive I was offered a requote as the first guy may have made a mistake...
I didnt have time nor the inclination to do it at both calls.
Called Adelaide there, pointing out that things were higher than expected snce last year and without drama we got it trimmed to £332.
