Thunder in the glen

It probably means it'll piss down all weekend. I'm heading up via Braemar/Tomintoul,the A939 looks like fun.
Then,on the Saturday,maybe head further up the A9 and have a scout 'round for some interesting roads. Any suggestions? apart from the obvious "feck off back tae England,tumshie heid" :)
I'll be on the GS btw,no Harley at the moment :(

concurred :rob velee intelesting - up there a weekend ago. Also the A93/B976/A939 Blairgowrie to Grantown on Spey - but watch out for those mad motorcyclists :eek:

Indeedly, I were up there today....well, Inversnecky to Ullaopool...joins into the same road at Dinglewall.

A lovely set of S bends up by the dam wall.:thumb2

Watch out for the bees, they are the size of Albatross.......

mmmmm,looks like;A9 up to Tain,A949 Clashmore to Culrain,A837 to Elphin,Ullapool then down the A835 to Tore and back to Aviemore. Return to hotel,get pissed. :D Cheers :beer:

The A837 is an absolute star of a road. Single track most of the way, but with a good surface and you can see a few bends down the road once you get past Rosehall.

In all honesty, I'd do that loop clockwise as opposed to 'anti' if I had a choice... :thumb

And take the B9176 from Bonar Bridge too...

Good point.

Certainly the Strath Oykel section is more scenic done from Ledmore Junction down to Rosehall, as you're looking down across the valley.

You won't see as many bikes on trailers in aw yir puff:eek: mind you at least they are just getting transported unlike 1200's:D
