It's that time of year again. Lots of middle aged men (and women) appear in Aviemore on over priced bikes wearing their patches and belonging to an attitude club.

Also, a lot of normal bikers, some on Harleys and some not.

A lot of live music, many beer tents, food stalls, chain saw carving, test rides, tottie spotting, side shows, craic. And idiot spotting, fairly easy to do. And to be fair, some fairly smart looking bikes, several of which came up on trailers.

Ride out is 1200 tomorrow

So if you can ignore the fukwits who are searching for their brotherhood and trying to get their patches looking used and worn, it can be a good place and weekend.

I'm in Scotland this weekend, If it's anything like the Harley Daze rally I went to in Morzine for a few days last month I shall give it a miss. (a friend has a property nearby that we had to visit to sort stuff out, otherwise I would not have bothered) Too many people trying to look like extras in Sons of Apathy, and daft badges proclaiming they had ridden so many miles. Far too many looking at themselves in shop windows, and looking on in awe at the real bad ass 1%ers. I never could appreciate the HOG thing when I had Harleys, I tried out a couple of meetings/runs but it was not for me.

I've never been to Harley Daze in Morzine but i doubt its anything like Thunder in The Glens, this will be my third year and I am no Hoggie.

Its a very well organised event with loads of entertainment and everyone is welcomed no matter what bike they ride.

Pretty much all the pubs in Aviemore put on free entertainment over the weekend so you don't even need to buy a ticket if you are not visiting the HOG venues or camping on site.

All in all its a surprisingly good do :beerjug:

I'm with Scooter boy on this, I do have a Harley but I normally take my GoldWing to Thunder as my Mrs comes along and much prefers the comfort offered by the Honda. it's a fantastic weekend and I would recommend it to anyone interested in bikes.

Live bands, good beer, great company, plenty of interesting bikes to look at including some well sorted Harley's, and apart from the usual rain, which normally starts just before the run leaves on Saturday, what's not to like. I'd recommend it to anyone.....

Weather came and went but great day, atmosphere good, music good, beer good. What's not to like

Just arrived back from what was a great couple of days in Aviemore, JoeBoof may be right, I should have said some well nice Harley's........or is that still a contradiction......either way, it was a good event, well organised, well attended and well worth a visit........

I heard great news from brothers 2 and 3 about the organisation of these events and Suzi Quattro was mentioned in previous years, Perth maybe ... (Age ... sad OK but I still enjoy Devil gate Drive https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9vFTksaposs&list=RD9vFTksaposs )

:-)

Popped into Aviemore on the Sunday morning, seen some very nice, interesting and unusual bikes. Lots of other makes there too, overall lots of decent bikers, same as everyone else.
Good luck to them all, we all have our passions.
