Thundersprint...

Thundersprint

yep...... every year I get drawn to the worst set up race track with the crappest view ever conceived - I can't help it - the lure of old bikes being thrashed, the smell of castrol R, the prospect of a numb bum, food poisoning, tacky stalls selling cheap shite and all manner of useless bike related tatt, and the...... wait for it ......the Spitfire fly by complemented by over enthusiastic commentary from a geriatric sitting in a burger van in the middle of the track.
Wouldn't miss it for the world!! - what time you going? and where from?:D

You make it sound so appealing, how could we not give it a go. Me and Mrs HT will be heading over the Woodhead pass, Glossop and Macclesfield on Sunday. Or another way if my beer soaked mind has got all geographically confused tonight.

yep..what time you going? and where from?:D

We will be there at about 11am, parking in the main shoping street near the underpass/walkthrough, near the market entrance, we go every year, fukin love it.... What an atmosphere...

Then will be at the first roundabout, out from the pits at the start of the parade....:thumb2

I am in the machine assembly area on Sunday- its my job to make sure that the right competitors make it out of the paddock at the right time and get to the course. Mrs Haydw will be the voice attempting to call the riders up in the paddock.

I will also be doing my best not to get run over trying to marshal the mass start of the cavalcade.

Have been helping at the Thundersprint for the past couple of years- its a good day out.

Not sure if anyone went to Hoghton Tower sprint last weekend- myself and the Mrs run the race side of things- would have mentioned it last weekend but didn't get time.....

Come and have a chat on Sunday- I will be one of the fat blokes in an orange tabard wearing an aussie bush hat.

Another crackin day out at the Northwich Thundersprint..:thumb2
Sunny all day.:D
Some luvely bikes and birds....
Millions of GS's...
Even some on the cavalcade...see pics below, anyone from here ?

Liked the look of the new Nortons but there are no agents around.

Apparently the have to collect them, service them and then bring them back to you.....

Had a great day at the thundersprint, must say though I am knackered. Got there at 7.30 and got home at 7.30. Spent all day trying to chaperone riders from the paddock to the race area. Not quite sure how the cavalcade ended up going out from the bottom gate- apologies to those who had to push their bikes from the paddock, but rules is rules.

My ears are still ringing after being stood next to Sammy Millers RC161. There was a 250cc RC163 replica as well that I couldnt resist being stood next to whilst my ears bled.

A couple of friends of ours had the job of chaperoning Chris Walker and Steve Parish. First sight I got of Chris Walker was him sat in our friends motorhome eating his breakfast. He seemed to have a good day and the guys from Norton were very kind to us. Its a nice machine- not sure I would buy one but applaud them for their efforts and wish them every success.

. . Norton. . . Its a nice machine- not sure I would buy one but applaud them for their efforts and wish them every success.

I know what you mean. Team Obsolete fired up 3 of their Honda 6's on the Prom at Peel a few Years ago. Andy Kershaw almost had his Head down the Pipes.
Agreed about the Norton. It is good to see the Bike make it into Production after all the previous False Dawns.
