Somewhere I remember seeing a thread about tying things to pannier lids and someone posted details of some lpps that can be bolted through lids.

I have found bungee buddies but thats not what I'm after.

I am after something similar for a rack for my 1200.

Anyone with a brain out there who could help??

All of my searches have not uncovered the old thread.

Thanks in advance :thumb

I`ve used some U bolts before now.......rather like the U shaped part of a car exhaust clamp.

The ones I`ve used are nice and shiny stainless steel ones.

You`d probably have to buy yours*,but I don`t know how much stainless ones would be. :P

Heh heh.....It`s a 'working in the food industry' thing...................

Any decent chandlers will have lots of nice shiny loops, handles and tie down thingies Kev.........and there are several in Maidstone ...that's where I'd start looking ;)

There is another thing/idea, they're called "Footman Loops" I got a bunch of them from America. They are strap tie-downs for the top of panniers, top box etc. Mine were chromed but I know you can get them in plastic etc.

Do a search for above and see how you get on.

Dibbles.

Another helpfull post from a mod....not........ :nono

If you want some of the cleats I use on my pannier lids, then give me a bell.I don't know if they'll be any good to you or not,but you can always send them back if they're not. They're about 75mm long,15mm wide and 10mm thick and mount with a screww either end.The only problem you might have,is they really need mounting to a pretty flat surface, but I'm sure you can sort something out.

Thanks for all the help there people

I am getting in touch with Metal Mule for some of their accessories :thumb

All sorted

Wasn't sure how it would work so overstocked with bits but now a rack with tie downs adorns my 1200. :thumb

Now to look towards getting some ali paniers sorted out and fitted. Had a set to renovate but they went to a higher bidder. :(
