vario pannier tie down points/loops

i know a few people have put tie down loops on to the vario panniers - did you just use a self tapper or bolts etc? any chance of a few piccys???

Sorry, not got any close up pictures, but that shows where I've put them on mine, which was the only place I could find that didn't interfere with the expanding mechanism. The hoops are plastic drawer handles from B&Q, which I shortened, or you could use aluminium ones. I took out the inner skin of the Vario, and screwed a self tapper from the inside into the handle, with a decent washer underneath. There are only 2 per pannier, but I can use them to strap stuff on using the luggage loops on the seat base and across to the lops on the panniers. Have had a tent on one side and sleeping rolls/bags on the other with no problems.

I used the small black loops from Hein Gericke. I used large alloy pop rivets to secure them. They have been great so far!

I noticed 'Flash Of The Gap' had a set on his panniers when we went to Italy but I can only find one photo of them.
