yeah agree with the above.

Quite like it really, but then again i like my 800 and seeing as they look so much alike, i would like it:)

cant wait to test ride one.

I'm seriously considering one. I'll be in for a test as soon as they're released.

Somewhat disillusioned with my 800GS at the moment. Side stand snapping was down to poor manufacturing. My coolant hose has been fixed twice, and needs doing again, and I've got paint flaking off my sump pan. None of which is covered by the expensive warranty. A brilliant and well designed bike seems to have been built on the cheap.

I can understand how you feel on this Leg End, all your problems and all, If you have seen any of the Posts from Tim who has like me the F650GStwin his first bike was riddelled with all sorts of problems. (I think its ok now as he has another of the same but different colour:D).

On the flip side mine is (touch wood) superb and paint finish outstanding 2 years on its a keeper :thumb2

I realy hope The triumph is a good one and you know the bike they have targeted because your riding it! It is know suprise its adressed and got the bits right:thumb that F800 guys want to change, screen, seat etc. Its like the guys at Triumph lurk the F800 posts and moans of wow :blast

But heres the But that Tim raised. Will it have teathing problems? If you was going to go for one would it be better to wait a year and see how it runs. (recalls). Or are you happy being the possible guy putting up with the :blagblah :blagblah :blagblah

But it looks good and for the guys that like ooomph its got more than the F800:nenau

Maybe we will be able to throw a Leg end over (are you going?) at the NEC end of next month:D any how heres to healthy competition and Triumph :beerjug:

Bye the buy can you imagine if the F800gs riders all rushed at once it would do you no good sales of the F8 would plummit. you guys need to get together and have a slow release keep your price bouyant :hide

:D :D :D :aidan

Mirrored my views. The Triumph seems to be just like my bike, but already with all the bits that I've had to bolt on to mine, together with a bit more go. BMW tried so hard to distance the 800gs from the 1200GS that they left it compromised.

I don't expect any new bike these days to have teething problems (not even from China). BMW have been too slow to react to their problems, and too arrogant in their response.

I am planning to go to the NEC (maybe see you there, or ride up), and hopefully see the Tiger 800 XC in the flesh. However, at £8200, I won't be first in the queue, maybe wait until a few creep back on to the market.

I was told £7000 for road version,£7600 for the xc version, its reported triumph tested the bmw 800 gs,when they were developing this bike, and if every body waited 12 months, to see if a new bike had problems, there wouldn't be a bike industry.

Who said 12 months? I doubt it will be that long before ex demo's come on to the market. I've been told £7200 for the road version, with £500 more for ABS, and the XC is £500 more.

Does nobody think with the triple engine in it it will be too powerful for off road?

Im after a new bike now and road tested an 800gs and loved it for the 30 minutes they let me take it out for. Think ill hang on for a bit to see when this is coming out for a road test too.

Dont really want to wait till next year though cause of the VAT going up :S

Know one needs 800 cc of power off road, triple, twin or single cylinder, but these are the best type of bikes to get you from your house, and on to the trails, the press launch for the tiger is on november 7/10,it will be interesting to see what the press think of it.
Theres rumours on the net that husqvarna are going to launch, there own version of the bmw 800 gs,with the same engine,as bmw owns husqvarna,
and honda are launching an 800cc v4 adventure style bike,at the ecima show,
called the crossover.

I don't believe that you would get better service from Triumph. Imho they make fantastic bikes but after my experience I would think seriously before having another. Having spent £10k on a 2000 Daytona I expected top notch service, but I just didn't get it. The bike had its problems, ie siezed rear hub (a common known fault) so that you couldnt adjust the chain and Triumph weren't interested. I had to pay for the repair despite it being a problem that they weren't lubed at the factory.

The Daytona also felt very old and loose after just 29k miles, I changed it for an SP1.....any manufacturer that doesnt seem to value my custom can f*ck off!!

Just my thoughts.

I think you should try another dealer. 30 minutes is not long enough.

Looks and sounds the biz. :thumb2 Wonder will yer maun get a ticket once for pulling the wheelie and then posting it online ? Stranger things.........:augie
Reading about the development in the comic today, it was interesting to see that they started to develop it before the 800GS was launched. Guess if you put the ingredients into the melting pot, you end up with a similar receipe, which is no bad thing.
