Almost seems so good to be true but I'll order up and see how it goes...Lifetime warranty!!

I have one of those kits here, not fitted yet but seems all good and as described

VAG pattern fuel pumps from a few years back fit perfectly and are between 15 (no kit) and 35 quid (full kit including clamps and sock).

I bought an Audi 80 fuel pump the same size and rating as the BMW one for my 1100GS as my existing pump is v noisy. That was after reading multiple threads on this site about options. I think I paid about £30 on ebay for it. The only thing is that it comes with a special wiring connector rather than the threaded stud electrical connectors of the standard pump. Although the mating plug is supplied you have to cut and solder wires to the new plug and I just haven't got around to doing it. I was also unsure what to do about the crimped on hose connectors on the existing pump. Do you just work them off the hose spigots and then onto the new pump or do you replace the crimp-on connectors with small jubilee clips? Any advice appreciated.
I also plan to fit metal QD tank connectors at the same time. Got to take the tank off to wire in some aux lamps so I can do all jobs at the same time.
Cheers, Nick

I fitted Audi pump about 3 years ago. You need to change the wiring to suit and will need new hose clips. Can't remember whether I used jubilee clips or the more compact fuel pipe clips from Motorworks.

Well I ordered one last night anyway but won't find out how well it works until next March as the GS is in the garage until then & I'm running my CCM meantime.
To be honest the warranty swung it for me but even at £50 or so it's still a good deal, but how can Sherlocks justify over £250 & who would pay that anyway !!

Snowing here in Aviemore as I write this...

Too many folk just pay rather than search around for alternatives.
As I said BMW don't make them nor does sherlock or motoworks.

Good job Kawanor! The exact reason why I have decided to change my one now and in the comfort of a roomy shed with the necessary tools at hand, the pump was making some strange noises earlier while on a tour round eastern Europe and I thought that I might end up stranded in Romania but kept pushing on and got home...just wish that I had changed it when I done the filter in July :blast

Cheers,

Mike.

That'll learn ye. :D

We have all done jobs like that & thought why the Feck didn't I change whatever when we had easy access to a particular part....

what was bmw thinking when they fitted stupid little studs to the fuel pump and filter flange broke three off,
