Hi - trundling through Marlborough (you know the bit where everyone parks in the High St?) out pops the obligatory 'SMIDSY' respectable gent:rob, flat cap in his Micra. Fortunately, plenty of time to stop, so no drama - but a bit close for comfort. It just got me thinking.... If I needed to make my presence felt on a massive beast like the GSA, I'd rather do it with sound, rather than contact.....
I've read lots about the stebel 'here comes the Titanic' device - but I don't want to trigger Heart failure in said elderly citizen.. just make an impression more than the rather feeble 'parp' that falls out of the standard horn.

Has anyone fitted a standard louder 2-tone etc car type horn into the same space occupied by parp-toy original?

Nothing dramatic, just more shout!:shout

thanks all for any pointers.....

Hi - Try NN for a Stebel Magnum MSX - straight swap for the stock horn and very easy to fit. NN also does a lead to allow you to plug it straight into the CANBUS although I think the lead is more than the horn!

Much louder without being rude - overcomes most hearing aids and/or IPODs - and no need to run relays and stuff to the battery.

horn

Hi,
take a look on nippy normans web site (top of page) good and easy to fit
and far better than standard.
I fitted one to my GS shortly after buying it and it keeps the blind buggers away coming out of London on the A40,not as much good for the deaf ones though,
its also amazing how many you can see texting on there phones as they are driving.

I have that as well and it suits the GSA verry well. Its a deep tone which sounds nice, but for moving traffic alarm honking its too deep, aka not as loud as a higher pitched beep.

Its hard to explain, but I guess you know what I mean, if you turn up your stereo, the high tones hurt, where as it cant have enoug bass

I have twin Magnums (hi & lo) fitted under the beak - does require some extra wiring and relay but well worth it IMHO.
