I have phoned around for tyre prices and those chaps at Protyre in Gloucester seem to be the most competitive.

They are offering ride in, ride out prices on Conti Trail Attacks at £190 and Michelin PR3 Trail at £240.

Question is, are the PR3 Trails £50 better than CRAs?

I had CTAs on my GS and loved them and will get them when I need new boots on my S10, I don't know the PR3s, I doubt they are £50 better as I couldn't fault the CTAs IMHO.

Are these TA 1's or 2's?

I know the 1's were well received when new, but things move on, personally I would look at TA2's or Dunlop TR91's as both would be better than the 1's and probably still cheaper than PR3's...

However £190 for a pair fitted is a fantastic price - and I don't think the PR3's would be worth the extra £50 over anything (Except DeathWings)

I tend to go for premium tyres, but will see what deals are about, next up for me would be Roadsmart 2's or TR91's, but I would accept a PR3 / TA2 / Tourance Next or pretty much any other premium tyre if the deal is good.

Rasher I have a pair of Bridgestone BT 023 which can be fitted for £190 . Surplus because of a cock up between me and supplier and local to you of course. Have tried several and these are much faster than me and the rear lasts 6-7000, front much longer.

Will probably be needing a pair late June if you still have them then :thumb

Rasher I wrote you a long PM only to see you cant receive any longer. Ring me on 07980 102527 and I shall give you the details.

I suspect it was TA1

because when I phoned today the price was not shown on the computer, only TA2s at £228, so I've plumped for the Michelin PR3s at £240 as they supposedly wear a lot longer

Anyone using Heidenau K60 or a slightly more dirt based tyre. i have to fit tyres soon and am off to Iceland in the summer and not sure what tyres to fit for some off road use (gravel roads as opposed to moto X!). I have tourances on my 1100Gs but would like something just a little knobblier...Any ideas?

And are we as a sub forum going to have a coffee meet sometime, or is there a national Superten get together?
