quick question from a geriatric who cant remember where he put his manual.
how do you alter the clock on a 59 1200gs.

with time showing on clocks press and hold down mode button as you would to reset adv speed or adv fuel,clock should flash hrs then mins

There was a thread on here recently where someone had a link to an on-line copy of the user manual...do a search and you'll find it.

Press the mode button briefly & repeat until the clock shows, then press & hold the mode button until the hours flash, let go & then press the mode button briefly to advance the hours. Press & hold the mode button to store the hour until the minutes flash, let go & then press the mode button briefly to advance the minutes. Press and hold the mode button to store the minute and let go.

The clock will now show the stored time.
