Time to wave my 1150 goodbye?

I've had my 1150 for nearly 5 years now and it has served me very well indeed - only problems have been dead battery (the original giving up the ghost after 7 years) and a puncture. I haven't done Morocco or Mongolia (yet) so only put on 15,000 miles in that time. But they've been 5 good years with some great biking and I know that I will regret selling her! But I'm looking for a change and may well go over to the dark side (well Orange anyway ) with a KTM 990 Adv.

What would people reckon mine is worth - 2001 yellow 1150GS, ABS, Panniers, heated grips, additional lights (BTBR), MRA screen - 2 new tyres within last 2 years, MOT, service history (last 3 years with a good ex-BMW independent) and 29000 miles?

Will probably (finally!) subscribe so I can sell to this great community.

The 1150 owners will shout 'Don't do it' and the 1200 owners will try to tempt you to the dark side. Frankly, I am one of the former and in no hurry to change over a very reliable steed. You have many more miles of fun still to be had and life with a 1150 is just a lot less complicated. I am just approaching 40K (km) on the old girl and I am sure to have mine for a few more years yet.

If you are set on it, take a new one for a test ride. They are nice and smooth, pull well and have lots of nice buttons. For me though there is something of the joy in the mechanical of the 1150 - but that is just me (and a I gather a few others on this site...)

£3500 or slightly more.

Used just the right amount for UK mile-shy bikers, and well looked after. You can't lose, really.
