Interesting phone call, silly o clock this morning.

Hello is your bike still for sale. answer was yes, as it still is. Caller sounded really genuine and dead keen. It's just what I want, will you be around tomorrow daytime (that was today) as I think its what I'm looking for.
Told him i was. he told me he'd call me back at ten to make further arrangements. I'm sure you all know where this is going. hung around ALL FECKING DAY waiting for this geezer (Ken apparently, called from a withheld number, didnt have time to ask him his number as he was gone in about 20 seconds), good job I didnt have his number or I'd have rung the fcuker back for sure.

Why do people do that???. I was taught from an early age that honesty has its own rewards. If he wasnt really interested then why the fcuk call me at silly o clock in the morning. Naybe something came up that he didnt account for, who knows. All I know is that its put me in a really mega shitty mood.

What a cnut. (Ken, not me, although you may disagree.)

I guess putting it in Autotrader wont make a difference as there's timewasters wherever you go...

Bloody Bugger Damn and Blast.

You do realise that if you were selling a 1200, and put this in the 1200 section, you'd be shouted because it's not technical enough? Mind you, if you put it in the rant section, you'd be shouted at for not cursing enough.

Now, serious question........ got any bling to sell? :D

No
but if i catch him hes going on the barbie, in little bite size chunks...

i hate that!

Daftest question i ever got was when i was selling a Triumph Trophy.
"is She any good around da fields?" he asked.

It was clear in the ad that it was a 1993 HINCKLEY 3 cylinder Trophy ffs! :blast
Nearest that 'sports/tourer' ever came to offroading was when it was parked on the lawn.

Funnily enough we don't seem to get them ( tyre kickers) here in France, which may seem a bit odd with the French temperament to waste everyones time.

I sold three bikes last year via a general free web site ( le boncoin), and absolutely no probs at all. My Indian Enfield sold to a guy on the Italian border, who drove 600kms overnight with a trailer in the snow, and stuffed the asking in my hand in cash, took ten minutes!. My R 1150R sold to a guy who drove down from Brittany ( 400Kms) with his dad ( who paid for it) and he rode it back. The Varadero went locally for a small discount.

Each one phoned in advance and confirmed appt with all details via e.mail. They all turned up on time, and none asked silly question or kicked tyres.

Maybe I'm just lucky, but they seem to accept what you have as being O.K. and don't like wasting time!

It just gets better....

Well, I thought, fck it what have I got to lose. Ill stick me bike in Autotosser. I spent an absolute age downloading all the photos, then I set to work on my wording, but Oh NO autotosser was intent on being a cnut. I tried to stick to the facts, but was told my ad was too long. Pared it down to the absolute minimum but it was still too long. Then discovered if i wanted to get everything across in the ad they wanted a bit more than the 40 quid i was originally told. Turned out to be 55 quid so I deleted the bastard thing and they aint now getting MY money. Where can I advertise it thats got good numbers of people viewing without spending half a fortune... GRRRRR back to mega pissed off mode now....

eBay. Costs very little for classified ads.
Pretty good interface too.

Agreed......I've sold a number of 'bikes with ebay classified ad's.....From memory the last ad' was £20.00ish for a month.

Won't stop the 'twatattacks' but at least it's cheap......:)

Put something in the ad like..."£100 non-refundable deposit via paypal, balance on collection"
That way if they turn out to be tyre kickers - it'll cost them £100 to walk away.

HELP!!!!!!!

Oh feck, what have I done!!!! I posted my bike on ebay and within ten minutes i got a text from a +48 number telling me they want my bike. How can i make sure im not getting screwed. I have NEVER EVER had any dealings with selling a bike in this way. Im a tad concerned that it may be a scam. How can i stop myself being scammed. He wants to buy for cash and conveniently has a mate in London who is going to come and collect the bike. he chose not to send me an email via ebay but straight to my text number.......
I think I'm being too cautious but what do you think. Be nice please people I've never been in this situation before....

I may not be very trusting but then again im not stupid either

It could be genuine. Sold mine on here last year to Poland, cash on collection.

Good price, little hassle.

How can you get scammed if he is paying cash?

Take the bloke to the bank with the cash, when it is counted, verified and paid into your account give him the keys and the paper work :nenau
