Timolgra's Fault: Trail ride weekend in North Wales, December 29/30th 2007.

The Smoker is fettled and ready for the next bogathon!

Gnarly'est tyres I could find fitted along with a bigger tank and a fan kit to stop Timpo brewing up a cuppa half way round. :D

All I need now is a set of muslces to keep me going through the day - been serching flea-bay but come up empty so far....... ( still sore after the last outing 8 days ago! )

Hope you have something special for us to get out teeth into Timpo! :hide

Easy for me to say - only doing day 2! :thumb

Cheers, Rick.

So if I were to bring a 14 cog and fit the gnarly tyres I've got in the shed, would I be the only twat on a heavyish bike? I can compete with GS's and HP2's no problem but I would probably find it difficult to keep up with the Husys etc because of all the Adv equipment. My feeling is it will be too extreme for my bike.

If by 'ADV equipment' you mean a big plastic tank:P, you only need to put 2 galls at a time in it.

So with the right gearing and tyres you should have no, er I mean fewer, problems:thumb2
It's not a question of being able to compete with other bikes, it's just a matter of you feeling you can get your bike through these conditions and only you can answear that one.......at the moment:D

WTF?

What is all this I'm reading?
Snoopy, if you fancy a test of yourself and machine, then come along.
If people label you niave, then feck them and come along to prove them different. I've noticed that half of the shandy drinking slack-jawed faggots that give you a load of sh!t on this site never turn up for a 'true' trail ride....
But they are still 'adventure' rider status on this site......LFTA!
Get on it Dude, Forry will put your gink in his van surely......
And, my DRZ is ill so maybe I take the XR600, that will be worth watching...........:thedummy

Timpo.

Well being as everyone is getting their excuses in I better get in quick before all the best options are taken..
I've got a very sore chest after testing out my new bushguards with my ribs in the Peaks this last weekend. I'm hoping that they are only bruised but time will tell.
So thats Shoulder, chest, leg(Forry), crutch (Gareth) taken:augie

A= The Motorway, Feb 2007, third of the way across the moorland when you were just in front of me.
B= As above, but 20 seconds later, once you had stopped rolling down the hill.
C= ADVRider Rhayader, Pub. You were pissed hence no memory of the fact.

Do you reckon your shoulder will hold out?
Either day will have it's tricky sections, though I reckon ByG will be the worst, with bogs, ditches and rock steps, what do you think?

It's true to say that without your help I'd still be stuck in that feckin bog:thumb but now have new positive mental approach to the motorway.....unlike some who are making excuses a month before the ride:augie

Rob

Keep an eye out:thumb2

Yippee - I sold the DRZ400 that I bought for the Cambrian this year and have invested in a mighty XR650R
It came in Supermoto trim (anybody interested in some top quality SM stuff) and a 24l Acerbis tank + original wheels/exhaust etc etc all in unused codition - as soon as the SM stuff has been swapped for the dirt stuff I'd love to come out to play

Richey, glad to se you are still in the game, although the new year ride is not the place for a big 650! Hope to catch up soon (don't forget the botle of Jack!)

Yorkshire men - yoy will have to ask Timpo if he is willing to share the sheep...... :augie

Cheers, Rick

And if you're not quite sure what Rick means by that here's just one of many photos where Timpo is seen both kissing and touching up a sheep:kissy2
