Tim is up and around the North East at present off and on, these past few weeks

So...........another rideout was planned

This time it was the Dales turn and we had a good 125 mile route to sample

Starting off from my place, we headed up to masham and then over to Coverdale, via Colsterdale

Just a good pace, with plenty of stops for Tim to have a smoke and take some pics

Tim let me have a spin on his KTM 950 Adventure, first time I'd ridden a KTM Twin and it's a lovely piece of kit, plenty of pwer and very easy to control over jumps and the back slides with ease:eek: Plenty of grin factor on these bikes:D

Weather was with plenty of September sun and blue skies, virtually empty mid-week roads:clap

Lunch stop in Kettlewell - Zarina's with a view, from my tea room database

Featured in 'Calendar Girls' and the Turnip & Cardamom Soup, plus Tuna Mayo sandwiches were ace:thumb2

After Kettlewell we headed up Littondale, via Arncliffe towards Halton Gill

There were a couple of GasGas sponsored Trials riders, doing a pot of midweek practice at Wilks - they gave us a cheery wave, as we passed

Stopped halfway over the tops to admire the views, down Littondale and watch the Trials riders going up the massive steps in the gully

We dropped down into Stainforth and hang a right to Horton and onto Ribblehead

Fabulous roads around there, fast flowing and traffic free

We stopped for one of Yorkshire's iconic landscape pictures

Quick stop in Hawes and then over Buttertubs and over to Keld to Tan Hill

Back down Arkengarthdale to Reeth, where we stopped on the Green for a drink and some Yorkshire Parkin

After Reeth we bade farewell, after another cracking day's riding

I shall definitely have to come up before winter sets in.

You'll have to arrange a little ride out / get together JB. Mellors the gardner... Micky ... Mark (earth mmover ..) ... etc ....

Thanks again Johnny, 3 consecutive weeks riding up here has finally convinced me there's few better roads anywhere in the country for bike trail bikes on Tarmac :) and although your route was a stunning 125 miles it so, by the time I got to your place then afterwards back here in the coast it's well over 200 miles if great roads.
Btw hope your air intake isn't too blocked with bits of 1200WC:D

Can't post any pics yet as I'm still slumming it in the Manor House:ChrisKelly

Glad you enjoyed it, we have some absolutely storming roads in North Yorksshire and I reckon over the last 2 rides we have sampled some of the best on offer

North Pennines, next week if you fancy it

Nice to ride with you again, a real pleasure:clap

Air intake is fine:augie

That chap on the sportsbike, wasn't getting past either on the way up to Ribblehead, he enjoyed the 'dabble', judging by the thumbs up as he went by, when I pulled in:JB

Looks like I missed another good ride out - all I managed today was a run back from Sunderland after the GSA had its 24k service. Nice weather on the coast though ;). When are you next up Tim, or is that it for now?
