I am looking for suggestions on how I can modify the riding position on an R1100GS.
I used to have one, but had to sell it because I must have the most unusual shaped posterior going. After 40 - 50 miles I was in so much pain that I had to get off the bike or just stand up.
I now have a Bandit 1200S and a R1100S. I find both bikes comfortable, however, neither inspire as much confidence through the twisties as my old GS.
I want to create a riding position that allows me to lean forward towards the handlebars, thus relieving the pressure off the very base of my pelvis. My thought was to change the handlebars, but was wondering if this would interfere with the turn radius in relation to the mirrors, controls, handguards and the small screen.
If anyone has changed the bars on their bike I would be very interested to hear about the results, e.g their riding position; has it changed how they sit on the bike when compared to the original setup. Contact me via the website or my personal email address.
I hope someone out there is able to help as I have previously tried every seat configuration without success. All I am looking for is to get back on a GS, the best bike I ever had (except for that damned seat).
Cheers.
