Tips for going to Chimay?

I'm thinking of going to Chimay in July. I plan to camp and have found the municipal campsite, I'll book in advance with them. There could be about four of us. Do you need to book tickets to the race circuit in advance?
Probably leave London Friday am and travel back Monday afternoon. Travelling from London; is Dover Calais or Newhaven Dieppe the best option?
Any other tips from those who have been before?

Dover Calais is best from London, for sure.

The municipal campsite is good. Maybe 30 minutes walk to the circuit.

The Victoria bar (I think it is) by the main square is good.

Plenty of restaurants.

The circuit is pretty flat. A good place to walk to is the cafe by the ‘bus stop’ chicane. Get to it by walking across a field in the middle of the circuit.

Pits and paddock are all free and accessible.

There’s a couple of large supermarkets out of town but walkable from the campsite. Follow the old train track, which is now a cycle path. There’s another smaller grocery store as you walk to the circuit, on the left.

They set up a ticket tent, where you come into the circuit from the town. I assume they will do the same this year, too.

I’d be surprised if it’s changed much. It’s not exactly Silverstone on Grand Prix weekend! That said, it’s much the better for it, too.

Pretty much sums it up from London;; the Boozer in the square is the Queen Mary; as for paying for the racing; walk or ride up to the circuit and pay for your wrist band before you get to the fire station; it could,nt be easier. If it's his first time rd racing abroard they will be bowled over with the relaxed and chilled out atmosphere; i know we were all those years ago; :beerjug:
 
If you ride your motorcycles from the campsite to the circuit (we didn’t bother) they park the bikes along the middle and sides of the road, starting maybe a few hundred yards before the entrance. Drop it off there, put a lock on it and wander in.
