Tips on CLEANING spoked black Gsa wheel rims

Except to get Ur mate to do it..!

Just spent ages getting the road grime from the black rims, there must be an easier way other than car shampoo & polishing with a cloth. (me fingers are killing me)

I use SDOC100 to give them a proper wash, then when they are dry, a jay cloth squirted with WD40 and wipe over them. Come up gleaming.

Takes a while though! :eek:eek

No worries :thumb2

Be warned - SDOC100 isn't cheap and after you've used it, it makes you a bit lazy and regular cleaning products don't seem to cut it anymore :D

When you use the SDOC, make sure you agitate the rims :ymca with a brush or the supplied sponge, then leave it to work for a bit, then rinse off. They'll gleam.

Plastic washing up brush from the Co-op, an old toothbrush, Wurth bike cleaner, followed by silicone spray.
Once a year, whether it needs it or not. :D

A powerwasher works well on the wheels. I just blast them and then dry them off with a chamois, come up really well.

Autoglym motorcycle cleaner works great on the engine so would imagine this would also work well on the wheels. have some SDOC to try but still using up the autoglym at the mo.

No No. Be really carefull with that stuff on the anodised wheels. Really dilute it down and rinse it off after you got some elbow grease in. Leave it on too long and you'll get white streaks in the anodising that you'll never get out.
WD40 works well on removing tar spots

Which stuff, the autoglym or sdoc? Good job I've not used either on the wheels then :)

After a good clean with SDoc100 I give them a wipe with Autoglym's Rubber & vinyl polish....it comes up a treat - the water and a lot of the muck beads off it. Makes the tyre sidewall good too but don't get it on the bit you want to stick:blast
