Hi,

I'm about to install this weekend a set of zega panniers on my R1150GS Adv, but having poor skills on this kind of stuff, I would like to hear some tips from anyone who have done this before.

I have already installed the racks (that one was easy! :clap), but is the drilling that have me worried. I've seen the touratech instructions on strapping the cases to the racks in order to find the correct position and then drilling the holes. I find this technique simple but with high possibilities of getting it wrong(for me at least).

Is there any measures (inches, cm) from the borders of the cases where the holes must be drilled? Any thoughts?

Did you not get a model specific drilling template with the kit?.I thought all new kits had them.

I have just fitted my panniers, and it depends on what position you want for your panniers. The only thing I would recommend is to use a support under the boxes as well, and use double ammount of tape on the bottom mounts, or they will shift when you remove them for drilling. Get some sharp drill bits and deburr fully. Otherwise it is straight forward, and I used the TT USA instructions. There are NO easy measurements to follow and each side is different because the racks are not symmetrical. Just ensure they look the same!!!!!!

No, they responded they didn't have any available at this time. However the suggested that the method at their website was preferered over the drilling template. :nenau
