Tire options for gs1300

My experiences FWIW…
On 1150 and early aircooled 1200GS original Metzeler Tourances worked well, especially impressive on cold wet tour of Norway.
2013 LC came with Conti Road Attacks, generally good, but occasionally let go when pushing on. After Hilltopping and putting a decent exhaust on it, the bike’s more sporting nature led to trying out some pure road tyres, the Metzeler Roadtec 01 seemed to give the most confidence hooning around the Alps/Pyrenees, the Mich Pilot Roads nearly as good, but didn’t seem to give the same front end confidence.
The new 1300 came with Anakee Adventures which are noisy and horrible, but grip reasonably well. After reading around I will replace them with Next 2’s very soon, they seem to be the best all-rounders; maybe without the ultimate grip of the pure road tyres but hopefully a bit tougher when exploring crap-strewn smaller French and Spanish lanes.
No need to stress too much nowadays, the majority of modern tyres are fit for purpose!

I'm currently running the factory fitted Anakee Adventure which I've been impressed with the grip and neutral handling (I wear earplugs, so not bothered by any road noise from the tyres). After just over 8000 miles, there's plenty of tread left, but both front and rear have got a slightly flattened profile now.

I'm thinking of replacing them with the Anakee Roads - has anyone fitted them and can provide any feedback?

I've owned a number of GS's and have previously fitted Michelin Road 4/5/6, Metzeler Roadtec 01, Pirelli Scorpion Trail II/Angel GT.

Thanks in advance

Took a new set of Anakee Roads up to NordKapp and back last summer. Covered nearly 6000 miles of mixed riding, gravel track to motorway and they handled it well. Sometimes with full luggage, sometimes with no luggage. Rear noticeably squared off by the time I got home, although still did what I needed comfortably.

Generally weather conditions dry, although they let me ride as quickly as I wanted to during a solid day of heavy rain.

Refitted my 1500 mile Anakee Adventures when I got home, and noticed the noise difference.

Like Road 6s, but will probably look at Anakee Roads again as I live up a long gravel track and like at 10/90 tyre.

So got the Road Attacks 4s.

Impressed with them so far, Continental have a new process which means there isn't any of the release agent left on the tire so there is no bedding in time. Its very clever and you actually have to look really hard (or feel) where the tire has touched the road vs not.

I would say they are slightly slower steering than the Tourance Next 2's, which (for me) suits the bike, I found the turn in to be really predictable and very linear. This was to 40 degrees lean which is as much as I get in the uk. I think the TN2 do have a little bit more feel when lent over though.

One thing I did notice is that there is this horrible bit of cambered road along the centre white line near me, the TN2 always fought that and felt horrible, the RA4 don't, will be interesting to see if they do as they wear.

I am off to the alps in a month so will update this with how they feel in the mountains when its hotter. I rode the TN2 in the alps last summer and was happy with them.

Depending on how they wear etc I may go back to TN2, stick with these of try the roadtec 02s for the next set.
