Nice pretty sparks from titanium when ground on tarmac etc. Also lighter stronger and some Remus designs are prone to splitting around the front pipe inlet. I would imagine they are all the same can underneath the casing.
The most important factor that made me go for the titanium one was the corrosion resistance. (Weight difference negligible in the real world and if there's a sound difference, would you notice it at 80 with your earplugs in?? )
I ride all year round and I've seen alloy ones that look terrible after one season in the salt...If you're like me and only clean the bike a couple of times a year, an alloy can could be a big mistake.

I second that, but I was offered a 2nd hand alloy silencer for silly money.
However, once a year at the end of the winter I remove the whole system and take it to a very nice man who does polishing and he does the whole lot for £70. Even the down pipes lose the blue/brown appearance.
