After nearly 10k out of a pair of Tourances I fancied trying something different and slipped a pair of TKC 80's on my 1550 GSA. I'm beginning to wonder if I've made a silly mistake by ordering the same carcass size as the Tourances which came off the bike (front wheel: 110/80/19, rear wheel: 150/70/17). I'm running 32psi in the front and 36 psi in the rear.

I've done about 150 miles on the TKC's so far and they're still really sketchy on corners - they're a long way from fully scrubbed in yet. The front tips in really fast and doesn't feel comfortable at all. I was comfortable right up the edge of my Tourances.

Should I have bought larger carcass sizes? Or will scrubbing them in solve this?

Same size as my 1150? TKC's do feel a bit less solid on the road than tourances, feels like the bike moves around alot in corners. They don't let go though and can be pushed quite hard once you start to trust them. You do get used to it and it is worth it when you find some mud to play in:thumb

Thanks for the reply. My gut feeling is that they just need properly scrubbing in but it's a nerve wracking process. I'll check the pressures again before I ride them next time just to be sure.

The blocks move around for the first 800 miles or so, they'll feel fine after that :thumb

Having just put my TKC's back on for the winter, I can confirm that the front does feel like it tips in a lot quicker, but I actually prefer that. I have had no issues with mine, but they were scrubbed in on one of Tim's off-road rides!

I put TKC's on mine last january - yeah they do take a little getting used to, after almost 3k it is getting close to getting a new rear
