ride a 12 GSA...plan on doing morocco from may 9th to 22. probably will do 30/40% of piste.
debating about tires:
I have a relatively new pair of TKCs in the garage that I was thinking of using...but you think its worth it?? (I will probably do 3k of asphalt and 1k piste)..or better to use standard Tourance?

thanks in advance for the advice.

TKCs. No doubt. Just done a trip that was 50/50 on road/off road and the TKCs were perfect. Good on the piste and handled the tarmac without a murmur as well.

Someone with a differing opinion will be along shortly. :thumb

Put the TKC's on. You may regret the Tourances if there is any loose gravel downhill hairpins on your route. :thumb

Morocco can be wetter than people realise and if you are riding a piste through trees or in the shade of a hill the track can still be wet.

I've riden with TKCs for the last 90,000 miles.

PS your math doesn't add up.
