TKC70 - high speed weave

Yup I got weave with my 1st set. Continental replaced them .... but still get a bit squirrely on white lines and banding ! It does vary depending on load ! otherwise a good all road tyre !
Had some on my daughters 650 twin and never had a problem !

TKCs are made by Continental... jes sayin'

I actually rate the TKC 70s as the very best tyre bar none, for the R1200 GS Adventure LC. I used to say the same thing about PR4s until I got three punctures in as many months and concluded they were puncture prone ( I really do believe that). The 70's seem to grip well in wet or dry on shitty surfaces and I have not had a puncture with two sets.

Never had a weave at high or low speed with or without luggage.

I had very bad weave from a pair of TKC-70 on my GSA LC and returned them after about 1000 miles. I tried various tyre pressures but they caused the bars to waggle badly many times and felt particularly dangerous at motorway speeds. I've never felt anything similar from other tyres and will stick with Avon Trailriders from now on when there's a choice.

Did 5000 miles on mine, rear was nearly dead by then. Fabulous tyre. Yes OK Weaved a wee bit when new but settled in. Now back on Annakes as they came with next bike. Great tyre too but oh that wail... TKC 70's next, they just seem to absorb any surface, dry to wet to great shit covered East Sussex Roads and mud off road. Very confidence inspiring.

Hi,

I've read a report on good combination with TKC80 for front and TKC70 at the rear.
Has anyone experimented this or similar?

Update.

Just done 2000 miles on the 70s and the high speed handling has improved.

Only getting the weave above 100mph. Before it was 80mph and above.

always used TKC 70.....30'000 mls year all roads and mixture of weight on bike.......can only say good things about them.....and never a puncture.
just ordered a new gsa and having tyres changed to TKC......
sometimes a wobble but due to weight distribution on bike not tyres....
