TKC80 to Morocco and Back?

From Folkestone you lucky bugger they will last easily.

Try it from Yorkshire Ive got another 800 miles on my trip.

Might just take a rear with me and change over in Morocco at the first camp

Yes, Folkestone has it's advantages I guess. I can see France from where I live.

My plan B was to order tyres from a BMW dealer in south Spain. Change the tyres there and convince them to store my road tyres until I return. That way I don't have to carry tires around so much.

I did Senegal and back (on a 1200GSA) which was 9000 miles on one set. At low speed the wear rate is low, it's the higher speed motorway sections that hits the treads.

I put the TKC80s on my F650GS twin before the last Morocco trip and they have been on for just over 6000 miles. There's still a lot of tread left but not enough for the upcoming Morocco tour, so I'll have to change them ahead of time.

Did it from Yorkshire no problems, although the rear did require replacement on return.

Thanks Micky :thumb2

Might just fit it next week when i put the front on, Should be fun next weekend fitting new wheel bearings, chains, brakes and now front and rear tyres

well, with tha whole lot of replacing try to put some miles on it before you hit the road :)

Just did my good beach party with my newly fitted TKC's and it was great fun :thumb2:thumb2:thumb2
fully loaded (like for a trip) i was like a baby in a playground. Did not expect the GSA loaded to be so handy in sand >>> well i dag some pot holes as well :):) so thanks to my friends for getting me out:bow

To complete the TKC's test i've tried to chase my friends on the road >> and the result:

1 - back TKC - hot, smoky, and for sure a bit skimmed but closed to the edge
2 - my friend self confidence - dameged (could not keep up on the sports bike) :)

Conclusion:

so the TKC's are great on sand and not too bad on the road >> they jus melt too fast :blast

ps. i may need one before i get to morroco :blast
