To Adventure or not 2 Adventure

Why would I want to swap my:

Standard '02 GS, ABS, heated grips, shagged tyres with 4kmiles for,

Adventure '02 GS, ABS, heated grips, newish tyres with 1k miles?

Dealer wants balance of ~£1200. I'm thinking tyres £180, mine needs service soon £250(?). Adventure has got black engine and looks much better than mine in my opinion. Taller suspension not a problem.

Depends wether you intend on owning a two wheeler silver christmas tree covered with every concivable needless gadget (tart's handbag)
Or use the bike as a road hauler with dirt track capability (all rounder)

I don't own either but consensus seems to be adventure better off foad, lower gearing more g/clearence etc. and the standard better on road.
