One of those individual situations then I guess I tried one for a day and found that the visor vibrated so badly when up it blurred my vision! Plus, as mentioned somewhere above, I found the chin bar restricted vision for lifesavers.

you'll have to try both and wear them for as long as can when you do. i've never seen a schubeth in the flesh as far as i know let alone worn one. i have just bought a shoei multitec and love it, all the vents shut in the cold and rain in heavy traffic no misting with the pnlock installed, the whisper kit is a nice touch too. but as i said i have no experiance of the schubeth.....

Had a C2 - took it back 1 day later as it was killing my head

Then bought a Multitec - it hurt my head after a few days

Now got a TourX and all is well

I had a C2 and found the visor would not stay up above 30mph, no matter how many times I adjusted the tightness of the retaining mechanism, and the removable lining was held on by cheap velcro fasteners that were always lifting away from the lining. It had the poppers in situ for securing the lining (as in the System 4) but Schuberth had chosen not to use them. It was also noisier than my old System 4 when used on the GS.

I had to replace it due to knocking it off the bike seat and chose a System 5. For me it's a much better helmet. The visor stays up, the removable lining is secured in a better way and it is quieter.

Shoei

Shoei every time! Got a Multitec and it`s superb and fits perfectly.

All depends on what fits so you need to try them on. You may want to check out the Nolan flip as well!

Lazer and Caberg both do flips. I bought a flip about a year ago and after trying them all on I settled on a Schubert because it fitted me the best out of all of them. As said before, its all down to the shape of your bonce

The latest Cabergs have the ability to be blue tooth linked to each other for communications wirelessly. Was looking at them in Lagunas myself earlier this week. £300 with blue tooth fittings (which you have to fit yourself). I'd be interested to know if anyone has tried them?

Are they as good as autocom as wires are a pain on tour.

Have previously always had Arai's but borrowed a Schuberth for a couple of days. Quite impressed.
I then went to Helmet City, Tatsfield, Kent (also on Ebay). They, as the name suggests, have stacks of lids from various makers. Once you've tried on the 'demo' lid, they will happily get you a boxed one to try. I now have a C2, bought on 10/01/08. SO far no misting, despite riding at 6am in light rain and 10pm in light rain. I cannot comment on summer ventilation but I was shown at the time of buying that the visor pushes forward by a couple of mm, creating a gap thus giving extra airflow. It does increase the noise, probably not suitable on the motorway or fast roads but seems ideal for town work.
I do agree that the lining does not appear as plush or well fitting as some.
