to keep it healthy created an in depth search for my Optimate charger.
In the process of searching I had to initially use my Davenset charger.
This was bought way back in the '60's.
A 5 amp charger , 6 or 12 volt , 4 position current setting with 6 amp ampmeter.
It did (does) admirable service as a charger and also to power a 1/4" ,12volt drill many times too
until
sometime in the early 90's the rectifier gave up the ghost.
Hmm, I thought and decided this device has proved so robust and reliable over the years I do not want to scrap it.
So, I contacted the manufacturer to obtain a new rectifier - nothing!
Approximately a month later a parcel is delivered containing a new encapsulated rectifier, a wiring instruction and an anonymous note asking me to accept the content and to, please, do not acknowledge the delivery.
Such thought and consideration, an individual whom I felt thought enough of his company's (at least the original company's) product to help a customer but knew those at the helm would prefer to sell a new charger at some cost, I wonder if that person is riding a GS (1150 of course), ............. thoughts gentlemen........ if any
