To Nigeria ?

Does anyone know if it's possible to cross from Europe to Algeria (ferries from Marseille I think) then ride down through Algeria to Nigeria via Niger ?

By possible I mean something more than "yes there's a road marked on the map" !

Presumably French is the best language for Algeria & Niger. Are there any border problems like the closed border with Morocco ?
