Hi all, just fitted my tobinators today but came across one fault.

Having read the instructions to make sure, it tells me to

"slip a long square headed bolt (with small washer) into the rear hole!
The next thing is to

"Get a rear tobinator piece and loosely screw the rear bolt into the threaded hole in the piece as shown on the left. Then put a washer and a nyloc nut loosely onto the protruding end of the rear bolt."

The thing i found is that the thread isnt long enough and the nylon part of the nut isnt being used.

Am i doing something wrong here.

Cheers

is this the bolt that goes through the screen then onto the tobinator ? if so this bolt is normally a cap head allen bolt so it recesses into the cap on the side of the screen.

you've either got the wrong bolt or it just not long enough

Hi,
the bolt has a washer at the head, it then passes through the "end plate", through the screen, through the "spreader" and then through the "tobinator riser" (flat slotted plate).
After that is has a washer and a the nyloc nut.

Both the heads protrude out of the end plate.

What size are the bottom allen head bolts that come with tobinators? I seem to have lost one. Have tried M6- too small. M8 is too big. Is it a UNF or imperial size???

I just fitted a 2nd hand set today.
Same problem, but only on one side. The bolt was a few mm too short. So I used the original screen bolts, only needed one, but used two to keep them both black.
The 2 'longest' bolts I had were slightly different lengths, so maybe I got sent the wrong bit :nenau
