Hi,
I have just installed a tobinator on my R1200 GS and the instructions seem a little confusing, esp since they are in German! However I think I have done this correctly and the screen seems to move in the correct manner and seems secure.
However, I have a few parts left over - never gives me much confidence!
Specifically:
For the "bottom" adjuster bracket I have 2 countersunk Torx bolts spare. I used the ones that were shrink wrapped and "preinstalled" in the original threaded bar that fits through the bottom of the windshield support. I can't see where I would need an additional 2 countersunk bolts.
To secure the screen to the adjuster bars (the ones with indentations) I have used the original windscreen bolts plus the original black plastic washers bolted to the semi-cylindrical "fixing" nuts that secure to the tobinator.
I can't see where I would need 4 additional bolts - 2 of which had white plastic washers and 2 of which were shorter without any washers.
So, in summary I have 2 spare bolts which came with the "bottom" assembly and 4 spare bolts and 4 washers that came with the "top" assembly.
Have I overlooked something - as I say it looks to me secure, adjustable and fitted correctly but I can't imagine why they would include so many additional parts.
Any advice welcomed!
thanks
