Hi Guys

How many of you out there have fitted Tobinators to the 1200 and how have you found them.

I did have them on the 1150 and noticed some improvement, just wondered how they worked on the 1200. I have read the 4 reviews on the Tobinator site which appear positive, anyone suffered any problems or no improvement when fitted?

Cheers Baz

Hi Baz

Fitted them a month or so ago and ride 4 or 5 days a week in all weathers/wind/traffic etc.

To be honest, no discernable difference for me. I'm 6'2" tall so maybe I was expecting them to do something unreasonable such as cater for the standard screen being too short. I started with them on the highest setting but this de-stabilised the bike even more.

I now run with them mid-setting and this points the air at my chest but doesn't feel any different from before. I probably won't bother taking them off but may well invest in another screen.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not having a whinge (they were cheap and did come with plenty of independent praise) but they're probably not for everyone.

Baz,

Dunno really what to say; I have Tobinators on my bike, and while using the standard screen I found that they did improve the buffeting (i.e lessen it), but since then I've cut down the screen, and I'm still testing different positions (of the screen :P).

I reckon that the ones who have got the best result from the Tobinators are people who have adjusted them tons of times and ended up not moving them because they're good.

They're not a miracle cure tho - don't expect them to do everything - they are good for what they're advertised to do (minimise or stop the buffeting effect), and they're fairly cheap.

Does what it says on the tin; get them is my opinion. :)

After fiddling around with them I found they did reduce the buffeting but the wind noise is still there :( I`m looking at buying one of the TT windscreen spoilers to try & throw some of the wind over my head. IMO the standard 12GS screen is MUCH better than the 1150 for less buffeting so maybe the 1150 Tobinators were more of a miracle cure for those.

Still worth the cash IMO

Its the wind noise I need to cut down, dont suffer with the buffetting that much.
May have to wait & see which screen offers the best solution.

Cheers Baz

They fixed the buffeting by allowing more room under the screen. They also fixed an annoying noise from my screen.
I like them very much.

hi

not tried tobinators but just fitted the givi screen and i think it's the dogs.

tis lot better than stock screen and no buffeting.

5'10''

sorry bout the spelling but dont give a hoot.

kenny.

Hi Baz,

I have one of the prototype sets fitted and reckon they have a slight improvement to the buffeting and no change on the noise levels.

I'm 5'11" and found a screen position that eliminates buffeting. There's still the wind noise, but I don't think tobinators could do anything about that......just need a bigger screen.

Looks like a new screen then.
Kenny bleep where did you get the Givi & how much?

Baz

Touratech spoiler

Before you get the Givi screen may I suggest that you try the Touratech spoiler. I've got one on my GS (I'm 6'00'') and find that it helps quite a lot. Cost is approx. £60 but it seems to be well made and keeps my visor a lot cleaner too.

Hi BlackburnLee

Do you have a link or piccy & does it cut down the wind noise.

Baz

Might be tempted.
Only really need it for the longer faster motorway blasts, then remove when I get there.
