Hi all.
Just fitted some Tobinators to my 1150 today and I hope someone can answer a question for me. In the instructions it recommends that a good starting point is to have the brackets leaning slightly towards the rear of the bike at about 15 degrees. When I have fit them, I have found that at anything past vertical the handguards touch the screen when on full lock. Has anybody else found this. If so, did you do anything to remedy it or did you manage to get a decent result with the brackets vertical or slightly forward.
Many thanks
Steve

Not sure what's happening here Steve but you should be able to lean the screen well back with the Tobinators fitted.

Have you got them on right...?

If you know how to post a picture that might help us to help you....;)

Hi I have tobinators on an adventure screen on standard g.s-got best results by trimming screen to allow it to sit closer to that silver panel thingy above instruments. Hand guards still foul on full lock, but its never failed an mot, and if it did, it'd be easy enough to adjust temporarily!

Steve - do you have an 1150 Adv? PM me and I'm sure I'll be able to help. In the meantime, lots of people have done very well with the risers leaning forwards. The thing to do is get out there and experiment - try out lots of different settings and you'll hit on the right ones soon enough.

Cheers

Thanks for your replies. I used the positions suggested in the instructions as a start point. I realise that maybe for me, the ideal position could be with the brackets leaning forwards. It's just that as they are, it looks as if I will only be able to use 50% of there adjustment range. It looks as if I have fitted them right. In the photo, at this position the screen fouls the hand guards on full lock.
Thanks
Steve

You seem to have them in quite a high position mate. If you lower the whole assembly down you will get more forward and back movement available..;)

Thanks Billy. That is what I have done. From what I have read, you need to keep a reasoable gap between the screen and the silver panel underneath it. This is supposed to stop the vacuum that develops behind the screen. There's still a pretty good gap with the tobinators in the lower position. I'll take her out for a blast and see how it goes.:thumb
Thanks all
Steve
