I'd be interested in forum opinion as to whether the use of tobinators has led to electrical problems with the instruments or lights. My 04 came with them fitted and whilst they certainly made the ride more comfortable with less wind noise etc, I did notice that they left the clocks exposed to our variable weather.

Any one had any problems..possible cause of headlight bulb failure perhaps?

I think this should be a standard quote on all future threads.....

Cusi I have just had a good look at the light and instrument consol, they look pretty much seal from the elements irraspective of whether a screen is fitted or not, ofter all its not a fairing. So I would not thing torbinators would have any effect on reliablility of those parts.

I would imagine going from wet cold to hot environments loike say English winter rain into or out of warm heated garage would have more effect due to condensation.

I don't use torbinators, but I live in an area that have tropical monsoon rain for half the year, and I ride in it, have not had water problems, and believe me english rain or weather in general does not match that of monsoon rain. The diference of course (for rider not bike) is that after monsoon rain the sun normally appears, which of course is not the case in dreary cold blighty.

If you are really concerned get some bath sealer on perseved offending kit.
