Right.........I've spent too long looking at the bits and searching on here and I'm still confused! Ive a 1150 GSA, with Adventure screen (naturally).

I've bought the basic tobinator kit PLUS adaptors and I still cannot fit the things...........it looks, from the instructions and from the stopthebuffeting.com website that I now need to source 1150GS type screen mounts to go beneath the tobinator kit. IS THIS RIGHT - it seems a bit perverse?:nenau

Help!

Yup

Tobinators are basically 1150GS fit. The wedge shaped bits allow you to fit an ADV screen but you need a set of 1150GS-ish mounts for the bottom end too. This means you can, with a bit of fiddling and a few extra bits, fit an ADV screen to an 1100GS if you want (been there, did that, stopthe buffeting.com has a picture of it).

Nippy Norman sells a set of Wunderlich adapters down the page here that work for £30.00 - they can be bought as part of a kit from NN. The standard ADV mounting points are just...odd really.

hmmmm, im confused!

just noticed the price has seemed to have gone up. £105 seems a little much for my pocket.

Yeah, well as I understand it, you need the full £105 job-lot if you've got a GSA. My concern was that I also then needed to source GS screen mounts. In the absence of replies here, I had a look and fitted the tobys as I guess they;re meant to fit - see pic. The "Adventure Adaptors" fit instead of GS screen mounts and with a bit of faffing around I seem/hope to have it right (no thanks to the fitting instruction though!). In other words there are four tobinator pieces each side, and no original bits of the screen mounts remaining.

As for adjusting the arrangement...........well , perhaps another days work. Undoubtedly a personal thing, I'm 6'2" so I was hoping for some positive results! I took a spin and stopped a few times to re-adjust the tobinators to see the effects. Certainly some positions are worse than with just the standard mounts in place and some are certainly 'different', not sure if this means 'better' or 'worse' ....just different! With them positioned as in the pic, (max elevation) it seems to change the buffeting from on my head to onto my shoulders, which is certainly likely to be better in terms of blurring vision/headaches etc, but I've not taken it for a long enough run to know whether this impact on my shoulders will be too tiring.......All in all I think the results will be positive, so here's hoping...!

Sorry for the hijack but does this mean that there are two sizes of 'wedge shaped' thingamees?
I had an Adv screen on the bike when I bought it off the dealer. I subsequently got a set of Adv tobinators. I now have an MRA screen and it's a tad tight with the original mountings (Adv). I'd like to use Tobinators with the MRA screen but I'm thinking I need a set of standard mounts to go with standard Tobinators. Is this correct?

Help, I'm rather confused :nenau

Steve

ps
I may have an Adv screen and Tobinators for sale soon if I can't sort this out

I think the MRA screen is for standard 1150GS mounts rather than ADV mounts, which is why it might be tight. I have heard that the MRA screen without tobinators is a good way to go, but you need the 1150 fittings (or them things in the piccy up there from Wunderlich) to fit to an ADV.

Oh yes, it's a fiddle. I did manage to get mine set really nicely once, riding along happily at 40-50 with my visor up. Then I simply shifted the preload for carrying some stuff and found myself in a gale as the angle of attack of the screen changed. It is, I think, a black art.
