Today -I have been mostly ultrasonically cleaning carbs.

Fairy liquid works as well as anything else for carb cleaning in the sonic bath

Here are a couple of shots I did when I cleaned my Bings in a sonic bath with heater on and using fairey liquid...

After cleaning the whole carb I drained off the water into a bucket, and let it stand, here is a picture of how much dirt came from one Bing carb

You put water in it, add some cleaning fluids of various sorts, add (in some cases) a bit of heat, leave it for a ceirtain amount of time (with the lid on ) and it comes out clean. Wow!

Ok, so looking at the above it sounds like I could achieve the same result in a saucepan on a low heat

Could someone explian how these things work?
