Back to Carrauntoohil today. No stories but a savage (great?) day.
Contrast the encrustation on the plus sign; firstly Jan 1st and secondly today from the opposite side.
Got down & home with out mishap; did assist two stranded climbers on the way down - so no spanners please. :D:D

Back chained to a desk tomorrow so no more adventures. :(

Hardy folk and no mistake about it!!

OK, here's the joke, maybe you heard it...

Little David was not doing well at the Jewish school so his Dad moved him to the local Convent school. Suddenly, his father found him studying maths night and day.

David, how come you are suddenly overcome by love of Maths? Is it the Nuns?
No Dad.
Is it the Teacher?
No Dad.Well, David, what is it?
Well Dad, when you see how they nailed that guy to the plus sign, you know they are very serious about Maths.

wow that looks amazing. Makes me think riding to various parts of ireland then climbing a mountain would be a great thing to do later in the year. A different one each weekend.

I imagine doing that sort of climb this time of year requires serious technical knowledge.... and kit.

You imagine correctly - it's just like biking really.

That brings me to your plan - I find biking and hiking great but they really don't mix.
Carrying all the incompatible biking and climbing gear just don't work for me.

Hopping back to the "serious" I have issued a safety bulletin on climbing in current conditions and am hoping for a minute or two on morning Ireland tomorrow. :rob

A picture from todays Independent of a guy called John Hussey from Killarney climbing on Carrauntoohil...........
