Hi Guys
I am new here, so forgive me if this has been asked before, could not find the answer.
I had a Tom Tom Rider mount fall apart when touring France last year. Managed to rescue tomtom and got a new mount after much searching. Now I am wondering how to fix it on so that this does not happen again. I had it clamped on the bar for the windscreen, but I suspect that the failure was due to vibration at hi speed. Is there a better mount that I can use - any suggestions?

Many thanks,
Pete

Don't throw good money after bad. Tomtom know the mount is crap and solved it with the Mark 2.

If you make a big enough fuss with Tomtom they will send you a nice new Mark 2 kit free of charge.

This link gives details of how I did it and I know of others that followed the same route and got new Rider Mark 2s.

For information, my Rider was well out of warranty when I complained and my complaint was in two parts. Firstly the known charging problems and secondly, a similar problem to yours. When fitted to my wife's bike with the Tomtom supplied safety leash, the Rider came off the bracket going over a bump and the leash left the satnav dangling between forks and fairing which jammed the steering. I therefore emphasised the safety issues with the Mark 1 bracket?

Not only did I get a free Mark 2 kit with car bracket, they sent me a brand new Mark 1 and bracket as well.
