There's a funicular railway at Baden Baden, the lad might enjoy that.
There's also a nice thermal swimming pool with indoor and outdoor pools. I spent a couple of hours there and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Tough day today - 35 degrees and a fair amount of traffic / finding the heat tough going so days are short - about 120 miles b4 knackered

I rode yesterday from Amiens in Normandy to just shy of Mulhouse, to Thann at the bottom Vosges in eastern France
Set off at 3 pm and got here at 9.30pm as I thought it would be be cooler later
It well over 30c and I took peage to blast it at 130kph until the last 50 miles through the Vosges valleys
Only 360 miles though
