i hardwired my tt2 to my 07 1200gs, direct from the battery, but i put an inline fuse and a switch under the seat so it can be powered off completely when its not being used, cost about 3 quid and took maybe an hour

Had my Tom tom hard wired by dealer when purchased 2011 GSA (Vines Caterham). They put relay under seat which turns power toTom tom on and off with ignition. Not an electrical expert but not had any problems with it.Power defo goes on and off as tom tom turns on in reaction to the ignition being switched.
