Hi all...

I had my TomTom Ryder wired in and fitted to an extension screen bar...so far so good.
The BMW dealership I took it to wired it to the front socket that sits just behind the oil cooler radiator.
The problem is that the socket they wired it to doesnt seem to be applying any power to the TomTom.
On my previous Honda CB1300 they wired it into the sidelight bulb as the TomTom doesnt draw much power at all..

Is there any reason why I cant do this to my 2009 R1200GS ?

Thanks in advance.

Never tried it but using the sidelight will probably trip the circuit. Best idea is find out why where it is wired to isn't working. They have probably wired it wrongly since there are 3 wires to choose from. That socket is there to power gps so should work.

Agreed. They have possibly mixed the speedo pulse with the +12v feed The pulse only provides power intermittently and is the obvious one to use.

If the above doesn't work then make sure that the cradle/docking thingy is working. They are notorious for going wrong:thumb2

Thanks again for all your advice..
I think i found the problem.. The TomTom power lead seems to have a faulty connection in the plug that goes into the cradle. If I move / wiggle it then the TomTom charging light comes on.
I have ordered another cable.. But for now I have cable tied it in a position that works.
Thanks again everyone.

I have a similar problem, where did you order the replacement cable from? Do you have a link? Thanks
