Anyone use one of these in the Tom Tom Rider.

Tom Tom site says support is for 2 Gig SD max.

I have loaded Western Europe map, in one piece (not zones) to a 4 gig SDHD and wonder if it will be reliable.
Has this been done by others??

4gb sd card

Hi Malc,

I'm sure an SDHC card will NOT work with a TT Rider. when I was recently updating my map, I had a similar problem to you. I had a search on Ebay and founf a 4GB non HC card from this place, http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/4GB-SD-Memory...AsAccessories_MemoryCards&hash=item3362b6c421

It works fine on my Rider ands saves the hassle of having to upload different areas.

Hope this helps.

John.

hi bought a card from ebay link but having a real beach of a job and cant get it to work, which rider have you got and did you have any problems cheers bill

4GB SDHC card in TT Rider 2 - Works OK

I did the same last night, copied current 2GB Std SD onto a 4GB SDHC on the computer, not through the TT. Then updated via TT Home with the card SDHC in the Card reader. ( A lot quicker than through TT). All works fine, now hve a 4GB card with one complete map of Western Europe (Not either of the smaller Zones)

Map plus files = 2.1GB giving 1.9GB free for future updates.

Tip: Make sure your SDHC has a speed of at least 15mb/s & all sould be fine..

Same here. 4GB SD card. Copied data from old card onto the new one on the PC the put it in the Tom Tom. Maps updated in the unit through Home OK.

how easy

Hi

i would like to put a 4GB memory card on my TT 2. How hard is it to do and is there anymore step by step ino available any where please?

Regards

Graham

Have been using Kingston 4GB SD HC class 4 cards in both my Rider V2`s

I just open a folder on the desktop and copy the map from the tomtom card to it.
Then put the 4Gb card in the pc and copy the map from the folder to it.

I always use the copy and keep the original safe.

The other one that works is SanDisk Ultra SD HC 4GB class 4.

I understand that there can be problems with some cheap cards.
