Yeah I know another TomTom Rider thread...But

Just wanted to know before buying, can this thing be mounted above the speedo as on lots of marketing pictures or.. do you need to buy other mounting brackets?

Thanks for your help!

I've just done 600 miles with mine mounted above the speedo, on all sorts of roads, using the supplied fixing kit and it hasn't moved at all.

I found the original fixings rather flimsy. :(

So ordered a RAM-B-149Z which I found much more secure. Also useful is a RAP-319 as the bar above the dials isn't 'round' as such. Click on the RAM UK link on the UKGSer banner.

The Rider's battery cable can wired into the aux socket below the left side of the handlebar (for onboard power). I know it's not as popular as the Garmin products but I really like the Rider, display is great and it's very easy to use.

ME too. I packed out the clamp with a bit of 21mm flexi hose from B&Q. (I had to use and extended machine screw to tighten the clamp.) It's not budged... even when I keep dropping it
