I know, I should be more with the times but I have an old TomTom Rider version 1 and it has been awesome for getting to A-B, however in changing the unit to a different bike and doing a 1k stint in Scottish Highlands it has refused to charge.

Took the bike on my way back to BMW and they state that the wire from canbus is giving a charge out, however the cradle does not show any charge...

So EASY thing is to buy a new cradle mount but the barstewards have stopped selling them on TomTom website :blast

I really don't have the money to buy a nice new Sat Nav so would like to know from you very nice chaps what I would need to charge this nice piece of shite that is obsolete.

Websites and parts would be awesome as BMW would like to put this shite back on the bike in the intended working order as it's previous position. Pics and of course offers of how to do it obviously consists of many juice that contains alcohol.....

I await your constructive replys.

Thank you chaps.

How about wiring it direct to the battery??

If that works, and you MUST have it live only when the ignition is on, wire it in with a relay.

Is the cradle broken, or is it simply a case of the spring loaded pins drilling the rider unit through vibration?

I still use my TT Rider 1, via the original cradle although mounted securely in a Touratech mount bracket to prevent the drilling.

I would buy a Garmin Zumo 660 but the rider still works very well (easy to use)and the Garmin is overpriced.

It's the cradle that is the culprit as there is juice going into the cradle but the cradle does not give any out mate.
