As nice as the Enduro seat is for the new GS, there are two problems. Firstly, unless you have a white bike, the white strip on the back looks odd.

Exhibit A

Secondly, I originally thought that it was all day comfortable, but after a 350 mile day last weekend, it isn't.:blast

So, off it went to Tony Archer on Monday for a gel insert, and a new cover. And today, it arrived back.

Some pics, taken in the garage:thumb

I'll get some proper pictures at the weekend, but these will have to do in the meantime.:D

Another happy customer, and cracking service from Tony.:beerjug::JB

May I be very rude and ask you how much he charged ... :)

That's very good old chap.

Did you have to book it into get it returned so quickly?

I think I might get my Xco seat done..

£120 (£60 for the gel pad and £60 for the new cover):thumb

My missus was mildly complaining about the pillion seat on out test ride, so i'm dithering between this sort of thing or an air-hawk. (Or of course, as I wear the trousers in my house-hold I could just tell her to shut the feck up complaining and get on with it .. :nenau)

I called up before I sent it and asked very very nicely if I could have it back for the weekend, and they went above and beyond to get it sorted. And despite having me dithering on the phone about colours, finishes, and stitching, still turned it round quickly.:beerjug:

and accept that the laundry service, chef service, shopping and house work et al will be unlikely to resume within six months:D

Nice seat!

Sad that BuMW are still making seats so bloody hard that you can't sit on them all day :blast

In fairness to BMW, they do market it as an Enduro seat, mainly for offroad use:blagblah

I cant comment on a gel seat as I have never had one, but I have the airhawk and apparently its a "gel killer"
I bought it for my plank of wood seat on my CB. The CB seat was a pain the arris by about 30 miles. With the airhawk, I was easily able to do a 250mile trips. I have used it on my LC for a recent trip to Wales - very comfy :D

The only thing to be aware of is, that it needs to have minimal air in it...almost to the point it looks like its empty, otherwise it wont work properly. I found the best way to "set it up" is to fill it right up, sit on it and then let the air out slowly until you are almost touching the bike seat...then its just right.

Well, I managed to get a couple of hundred miles on the bike at the weekend, and the seat on one side now has a small crease in it:blast

I've tried to rub the seat to get it out, but the gel pad won't move. I had a chat with TA this morning, and they said there's not much that can be done, as the fabric has been stretched very tight, so can't be any tighter.

Is this normal for a seat with a gel insert? They did say they could do it again if I'm not happy, but can't guarantee it won't happen again.

And before the smart arse comments that I should lose weight, I weigh 67 kilos, so it ain't my fat arse that's causing the problem:comfort:D

Get her a sheepskin seat cover :D

My original seat ive had done with a gel pad is perfect no creases in the cover after long use.

Speaking with TA, the fabric BMW use is much more flexible, so goes back to shape instantly. The stuff used by Tony is "better quality" yet creases it would seem:blast I'll stick some more miles on it over the next few weeks, and see how it beds in.:thumb

Problem sorted. I used the wife's hairdryer, and the ruffle has gone.:clap Someone else with the Enduro seat (that also has a gel insert) said that when his was in the high position there wasn't an issue, as you aren't being pushed forward into the seat, but in the low position did exactly the same as mine. I'll try it in the high position, and see how that goes.
