E-mailed BMW regarding Tool kit and Key Issue, with some success with key still trying with Tool Kit. Read response received today 23/02/06 will keep you posted with regards to tool kit the fight goes on as they say.

Thank you for your email dated February 22, 2006, regarding your BMW 1200GS.
BMW have made the decision to reduce the size of the standard tool kit, as it was found that a large proportion of our customers would rather use Emergency Services in the event of a breakdown or puncture. The cost of this kit has been reflected in the purchase price of the vehicle and the larger tool kit is now available as a cost option, if it is required by the customer.
We understand your concerns with regards to a limited phone signal in certain parts of the country, however, BMW are unable to control signal availability provided by UK phone networks.
With reference to the second metal key, we have now reinstated the decision to issue two metal keys to our motor cycle customers. This should be provided by the dealership, at the point of collection. Please contact your dealership with a copy of this letter for reference, so your second key can be provided.
