Tool kit, help required

This is quite a departure for BMW, isn't it?

FWIW, here in the states, all of the R1200GSs sold have been designated as 2005 model year bikes and mine (picked up in April) had the full tool kit and flat repair kit.

I will try to find out if this was a running change that affected those bikes shipped from Sept on.

MIne arecent build (week 44) picked up Nov5th has the reduced tool kit in.

Could do with someone explaining what some of these bits are for!!!!

Oil plug thingy, 17mm spanner and screwdriver im ok with....:)

Tool Kit

Just picked up my 1200 GS today and whilst having a good nosey checked my toolkit only to find just a handfull of tools

no torx keys no puncture repair kit

how do they expect you to remove the wheels etc for tyres

if i had know it was this minimal i would have nicked all the tools from my 1100S that i traded in which had everything

looks like a trip to halfords plus a letter to BMW

still a great bike though

Chris

Had my 1200 about three weeks and there is nothing in the manual and i've only got a few spanners under the seat too, no puncture repair kit or ouwt.

Bracknell

Has anyone written to HQ at Bracknell about the "alleged" tool kit?

I remember a Bike test write up that commented on that you could tell how BMW held their customers in high regard by the state of the toolkit which put most peoples tool kits to shame.
