They're pretty good. Be aware that they have a "vent" hole in them (designed to deal with pressure changes when the lid is screwed on), that can allow water in. I and a number of other people, have plugged this hole to make it waterproof. Unless you're going up K2, I doubt the altitude/pressure thing will be a problem.

If you're going to be using it without improvising some sort of a lock and are storing anything more valuable than an inner tube in there, I'd advocate taking a file to the yellow "hieroglyphs" on it to make it attract a bit less attention.
