Feckin thing has gone up the side of my computer for some reason

How dae I get the thing back to the bottom:confused:

Right click in it and make sure it's unlocked....then try dragging it into the middle of the desktop (you'll need to get the four-way move icon up rather than just the two way one that only goes sideways....try varying where you drag from) then drag it to the bottom and drop it.

Turn your monitor on it's side, hey presto, bar at bottom again.

Move cursor over toolbar
Right click & hold
drag cursor back to the bottom of the screen & release button.

You can position the toobar on any side of the screen (top/bottom/left/right)

N here’s you slagin me off coz I asked about removing the tank on ma bike!

Just in case any "novices" are looking it's Left Click and hold that mouse key down and move the mouse quickly towards the side you want the toolbar on!

I like mine at the Top just to be Non PC and More MAC but not too plastic!!!

Here's one for Vista users.......'cos they broke it

In XP I always have a 'my computer' toolbar, set to on top and autohide etc but running up the left side of the screen...it's useful to just mouse over to the left and select a drive (I've got 8 ) or a dvd device etc......

In Vista you cannot move the quick launch toolbar to the left, or create toolbars there, so there's a workaround;

1. Right-click on a blank area of the desktop
2. Select New Folder from the context menu
3. Drag this New Folder to the very side of the screen and let go. The toolbar should run vertically down the side of your desktop.
4. Right-click this new toolbar and select Toolbar and then Quick Launch, My Computer etc
5. Right-click this new toolbar again and unselect New Folder
6. If you're intending to move the quick launch to the side rather than create a new toolbar there, right-click taskbar at the bottom of the screen, select Toolbars, and unselect Quick Launch.

A better workaround is to dump Vista and install XP. You lose a lot of eye candy and a few poorly specified add-on programs but gain a faster more functional computer.

I'm just playing with it really......I still have the last image of XP stuck on one of the HD's and I'll probably put that back on at some point.

It's nice to have a poke around though and TBH it doesn't seem any slower, but then I haven't run any benchmarks on it yet :)

That confirms what I heard and that's good as I've got 8 workstations 1 server 1 back-up unit and 2 laptops all specified with XP pro just waiting to be commissioned:)
