Was looking to make up a extra tool kit with a bit more in it than usual , I have the puncture repair ,and small pump , What sizes of spanners would be of more use .?? Any sockets ?? and anything else . Riding solo so have plate over toolbox , Have a tool yube and want to make most of space .Some of you older owners must have a fair idea . Only have mine 8 years and still learning .

I carry the original tool kit including puncture repair kit. a mobile phone. £5 note and the free with insurance 'rescue' i have. don't see the need for anything else. tools I use for a service I keep at home - I dont see the point of carrying them with me. Not sure I would need much more for going abroad unless I was really going off the beaten track. (unlikely) and then a foot pump and tyre guage. (just in case) I trust my bike. it is an 1100 after all properly serviced and so forth.

sorry if thats not the answer you wanted. but I dont lose any sleep being paranoid about my bike. If it was to break down horribly then I'll have it brought home and fix it here (with the kettle handy)

I'm sure someone will be along with an exhaustive list - but having thought it over for a few mins I can't think of anything extra thats a 'must have'

A hammer and chisel, small tower scaffolding......:augie
I am thinking along similar lines myself, how about a 3/8 ratchet with appropriate allen key/torx/hex sockets, I carry a tyre plug kit, a small electric compressor, a good pair of pluers, mole grips, adjustable, screwdrivers straight and crosshead, insulation tape duct tape, spare fuel line clips, zip ties, simple circuit tester, a few bits of wire and electrical connectors, fuses, short length of 8mm copper pipe.
Others will probably be along to add or ridicule :D
I often find myself fettling vehicles other than mine.

The piece of copper is a legacy from when I had the flimsy QD fuel line connectors, I keep that with a bit of rubber fuel line and clips.
And it doubles as a handy crack or hash bong :aidan:confused:

Thanks Guys . I am carrying the basic tool kit a small tyre pump with BWM end , spare alternator belt after what happened couple of years back , tubless repair kit ,with fresh glue few cable ties . Plus RAC card . As you say when you keep the 1100 well serviced ,not much to go wrong . Thanks you lot . Feel happier now .
